Every year, in front of the first and second half of the season UEFA updates its list over referees and their placement in the UEFA system. The following list is created from various sources (RateTheRef, Nos.nl), but is not official in any way.

From this list we can note a few things:

• At the end of this year Konrad Plautz, Iouri Baskakov, Paul Allaerts, Costas Kapitanis, Nikolay Ivanov and Vladimir Hrinak will have to retire because of the 45-year limit
• With the promotion of Stephane Lannoy France now has three Elite category referees
• Lannoy and Kuipers both came from the Premier Development category
• Bjorn Kuipers was promoted to the Premier Development category in January 09
