Svein Oddvar Moen has been appointed to the U-17 World Cup final between Uruguay and Mexico on Sunday. Moen will be assisted by Erwin Zeinstra and Kim Tomas Haglund. Bas Nijhuis will be the fourth official.
The 32-year-old Norwegian has refereed two games earlier in the tournament, including the round of 16 match between Mexico and Panama. Moen has since the beginning of the tournament been teamed up with the Netherlands team after both Angelo Boonman from Netherlands and Frank Andås had to travel home due to failed fitness tests.
The Norwegian was recently promoted to the Elite category of Uefa referees and had his debut in the Champions League last season. He is following top referee Terje Hauge in refereeing a final in a youth tournament, Hauge did the U-20 World Cup final in 2005.
