Referees for FIFA U-17 World Cup

The FIFA U-17 World Cup is set to start the 24th of October and FIFA has announced the complete list of referees with assistants. The tournament is set in Nigeria and starts 24th of October with the final being played the 15th of November.

A good performance in a tournament like this will almost certainly secure you a place in the South Africa finals next year.

A couple of observations:

  • Busacca, Webb, Hester, Pozo and Maillet all participated in the recent Confederations Cup
  • Mohd Salleh, Benouza, Coulibaly, Maillet and O’Leary also participated in the FIFA U-20 World Cup in Egypt.
  • Coulibaly and Maillet participated in the 2007 FIFA U-17 World Cup.
  • Mohd Salleh is the only referee from this selection who participated in the 2005 FIFA U-17 World Cup.

UEFA today announced the referee for the UEFA Champions League final between Manchester United and Barcelona on Wednesday. The Swiss referee Massimo Busacca will take charge of the match assisted by Matthias Arnet and Francesco Buragina with Claudio Circhetta as fourth official.

UEFA announced today that Italian referee Roberto Rosetti with assistants Paulo Calcagno and Stefano Ayroldi, and Nicola Rizzoli as fourth official will be in charge of Tuesday’s semi-final in the Champions League.
