Reuters is reporting that the suspension of the Salvadoran Football Association has been lifted by Fifa. The government has recognised a commission set up by Fifa to run the football association.
This news come after Fifa announced last week that government interference was the reason for the suspension, and set a June 8 deadline for the government to recognise the Fifa-named commission.
With the news of the government recognising the commission, the Salvadoran referee trio, with Joel Aguilar, William Torres and Francisco Zumba, will be able to attend the upcoming World Cup in South Africa.
The final assessment and appointment of active and reserve referees has not been announced yet. The referees travel to South Africa on 2nd of June to prepare for the tournament.
