Apropos, Kassai will handle a friendly in August between Germany and Brazil in Stuttgart.
Portugal – Norway
I think that will be a quite intresting game. Portugal will quickly try to score without doubt. Norway will be in defense and counter attack. If Portugal may not score in the first half, tension may rise in 2nd half.
Cakir is so familiar with Portugese team (Quaresma, Almeida, Simao: Turkish media named these three as “Q Gang”). I think, he will not hesitate to send off players if tension arises so much or we may watch a low profile start-stop game.
Lets hope, these fictions will not become facts. I will be also watching the game. Good luck for both teams.

Regions Cup final tournament: I get the information that Igor Pristovnik (CRO) is one of the referees, any other name?
Never heard of this competition before :D
I suppose, if you look you got all the matches, Malcolm, Yildirim and Janku may be candidates
Ken Henry Johnsen from Norway will go. Fresh FIFA-referee and in cat 4 at UEFA.
Ioannis Anastasiou from Cyprus is going. New FIFA-referee and cat. 4.
Igor Pristovnik is also cat 4, but he is FIFA-referee since 2010.
Ah the old Busacca is back: great perfomance in Vienna. He finally is one of the best refs we have
you’re right, Niclas! Busacca was simply great yesterday. Amazing how he let flow the game. And the yellows were absolutely right. In this form Busacca is easily one of the best refs of the world as you said. I think it was one of his best matches ever. A simply exciting football match to which he contributed with a mindful reading of the game. This is the Busacca we all love. Great! He can be proud!
Although I would not say the phrase that the old Busacca is back again. He finally was never away, FIFA and UEFA simply did not see his quality. Apart from the offside error by Arnet his perfomance in the RSA URU match was very strong.
Cakir was by the way very good yesterday, no card!
no card doesn’t mean quality. He had opportunities to show it. His foul detection and giving advantage rule were very inconsistent. Lucky for him the fair play was always present. Just a doubtful situation in the 80′s with a possible penalty for Portugal.
:D that is the same style like Kassai’s one.
Kassai gets marks like 8,8, Cakir only 7,8. I do not understand that.
Kassai had about 5-10 opportunities to show a yellow card.
It was absolutely correct that Nani did not get the penalty!
Penalty for Portugal ?!, no, no, i agreed with Cakir that Norwegian pushed the ball before portugese could have shot. That was fair.
Cakir doesnt like applying advantage if it is not an obvious goal attempt. It seems to be his style. On card issue: Yes, he could give some YCs. On the other hand, willingness of players to play football and fair play environment made him step back and watch. We know that he never hesitates to give cards whenever needed :) (See ManCity-DinamoKyiv, Villarreal-Napoli etc.).
Do u tkink there were a penalty for Norway at min 69 when Abdellaoui was down in the box?
I think that it was a (in Cakir’s eyes) too easy fall, but one can discuss about it..
I want to say something concerning Ionut Avram from Romania. Perhaps we have someone here who follows the domestic league there. Who the hell gave this referee the FIFA badge??
I have never seen such a bad perfomance by a referee, he lost all his knowledge about refereeing. Perhaps there are match highlights soon on youtube..Turkey u19-Germany u19. Yellows? 7-2. One need not say more.
was 8-3 in yellows in that game…XP…i didn’t watch the game so i am not commenting it. But Niclas see this in the positive perspective. With Germany out probably the big first european appearance for Aytekin.
Yes, that is the only positive thing about that.
I watched the match and I really had the impression that he never was on a football pitch. Perhaps he confused football with Chinese Checkers, I do not know. Both sides were influenced by the referee, although the Turkish players nearly fought instead of playing. At least one red must be shown. Aytekin would be a good choice for Romania and the fact that he had two games in one group (France….) underlines his good chances.
Actually, one has to talk about the system these qualifiers are held. The Elite round takes place in one specific country, so that one team gets the home advantage several times. Moreover, you can have luck or not with the referees because there are only 3 referees for those matches. In Germany’s group it was besides Avram: Bieri and Boiko. Bieri was pretty good together with Habegger.
That might sound a bit too much being a conspiracy theory, but I would keep more than just one eye on Sergii Boiko from Ukraine. Not sure about that, but I saw three games from him (two in full length) and his perfomances were all full of doubtful decisions including several red cards…
Two pieces of information and one question:
info:
——
1st u21 EURO: Nicolas Pottier does NOT join the final tournament, Damien McGraith will be in Denmark instead.
2nd Gold Cup: José Molina replaces José Pineda.
The appointments: CRC – CUB (yesterday): Moreno; MEX-SLV (yesterday): Wijngaarde; JAM-GRE: Toledo; HON-GUA: Chacon; PAN-GPE: Taylor; USA-CAN: Lopez Castellanos
question:
I have these appointments from worldreferee.com but not from concacaf.com. Where can one see the appointments before the match? Do you know any source? One concacaf’s homepage the referees are only visible a few minutes during the match..
Hi,
I have already updated the U21 and Gold Cup posts.
I have tried contacting the CONCACAF media department regarding the referees for the Gold Cup matches, but received not response. They may have other things to attend to…
Apparently worldreferee.com has some good sources.
Ok, thanks.
I wrote them a mail as well, perhaps we soon get an answer.
