World Cup referee hurt by Fifa suspension

by Martin Rødvand on May 12, 2010

Fifa announced Wednesday that the Salvadoran Football Association is suspended due to government interference. If the authorities do not revise their position by June 8th, the Fifa Executive Committee will propose to extend the suspension.

This suspension makes it impossible for members of the Salvadoran Football Association to represent their country in any regional or continental competition.

Referee Joel Aguilar, with assistants William Torres and Francisco Zumba will be affected by this suspension, and if a solution is not found quickly their participation in this summer’s World Cup is in danger.

The final list of referees including reserve teams going to South Africa has still not been published as Fifa are finishing the referees fitness tests.

Do we know when they leave for South Africa? When they announced the referees they also said they would make the final assessment in May.

Yes, it’s true, but they have decided to wait. The referees will be in South Africa the 1 or 2 of june.

The legislative camera of El Salvador already decided the situation, and they agreed with the new presidency of FESFUT, the referees are like this already guaranteed in South Africa. All the referees travel July 2, they are in Pretória, and about 6 or 7 FIFA publishes the scale for the first 16 games of the Cup.

That is excellent. Now if only Carlos Amarilla’s assistant referee gets fit enough to pass the test, we are all go I believe.

Emidio Ruiz Roa had to do the new test at the end of next week, he had to pass calm, since it didn’t get to finish the other test due to a bruise. Now it is the hour of we know who will be them reserve and the titular ones, I think FIFA had to designate a reservation for Association. I take a risk in these names as reservations: Joel Aguilar (CONCACAF), Pablo Pozo (CONMEBOL), Koman Coulibaly (CAF), Khalil Al Ghandi (AFC), Peter O’Leary, In spite of me to find him better than Michel Hester (OFC). In Europe I don’t know if FIFA will place Martin Hansson how to title, but if this happens Stephane Lannoy it should be it reserves.
