It is likely that 24 teams will be active while 6 teams will be reserves. This will be decided in May, after a final assessment by FIFA.

Yes, but all these referees should be going to South Africa.
The reserve teams will be acting as fourth and fifth officials, at least this was the procedure last World Cup. Only from the quarter-finals and onwards were the fourth and fifth officials other active referees.
Can anybody explain why Breeze was left home while Al-Ghamdi, who did only one major FIFA tournament will go to the WC 2010? Is it only because Al-Serkal (UAE) and Jassim (BHR) are members of the FIFA Referees’ Committee?!
