Howard Webb, together with his assistants Mike Mullarkey and Darren Cann, will be participating in the FIFA U-17 World Cup this October and November. The English team will be in Nigeria from the 18th of October and may miss almost a month of Premier League football if they proceed to the final stage of the tournament.
This includes missing big matches like Liverpool vs. Manchester United and Chelsea vs. Manchester United, both matches Webb and his team would be in contention for. The tournament also clashes with two Champions League matchdays.
It’s worth noting that Webb last tournament was the Confederations Cup in June, but then with Peter Kirkup instead of Darren Cann. Cann last accompanied Webb in a major tournament last summer, when this trio refereed in EURO 2008 in Austria and Switzerland.

Where can we find the full list of referees appointed for the 2009 FIFA U-17 World Cup/
It’s currently not available anywhere, the news about Webb is found on the Refworld website. I’m reading on RateTheRef forum that Wolfgang Stark supposedly is to ref in the tournament as well, but I haven’t found anything official. Yet.
As soon as FIFA figures out how to post stuff like this on the Internet, I’ll find it and make another post here.
