UEFA released their final two quarter-final appointments today. Wolfgang Stark will be in charge of the match between Arsenal and Villareal with 1-1 as starting point, while Massimo Busacca will be the leader in Porto versus Manchester United. This match ended 2-2 last week on Old Trafford.
Arsenal – Villareal: Wolfgang Stark, Jan-Hendrik Salver, Mike Pickel, Babak Rafati (GER)
Portoo – Manchester United: Massimo Busacca, Matthias Arnet, Manuel Navarro, Sascha Kever (SUI)
The last couple of years, except last year with injured Michel, has shown that the referee for the final in May will be in action during the quarter-finals. If this is to continue we have the following eight referees to choose from: Howard Webb, Tom Henning Ovrebo, Luis Medina Cantalejo, Wolfagang Stark, Massimo Busacca, Roberto Rosetti, Claus Bo Larsen and Konrad Plautz.
